Digital Marketing Internship

We’re looking for a Digital Marketing Intern to grow with us! As a Kelpy team member you will play an important role in communicating with the Kelpy community and reaching new audiences. At Kelpy, we create eco-friendly plant care products. Our goal is to create amazing sustainable alternatives for the home and create demand for renewable carbon capturing resources like kelp. This position is dependent on grant funding.

 
The Digital Marketing Intern works under the supervision of the Co-founders in the development and management of the brand’s presence online, helping to increase audience reach and engagement through content creation.
 
Role and responsibilities:
 

  • Creates blog posts and content with a focus on SEO and audience reach
  • Manages the day to day of Kelpy’s social media accounts and engages with the Kelpy audience
  • Creates instructional reels and video content
  • Looks for opportunities for collaboration with like-minded partners
  • Researches and identifies potential applications, plugins, and other trending web technologies to enhance brand reach
  • Other duties as required
 
Qualifications:
 
  • A passion to create high quality, engaging content
  • A degree or diploma in digital marketing or copywriting
  • A keen interest in houseplants and interior design
  • Intermediate level experience with Adobe Creative suite, Final Cut Pro or other video editing software and Figma
  • Experience creating and editing video content
  • Experience managing social media communities (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Discord)
  • Excellent team player and self-motivated learner
  • Strong time management and project coordination skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent Attention to detail
 
The internship may be funded by Innovate BC’s Digital Skills for Youth Program and such, the following qualifications for the applicant must be met:
 
  • Be between the ages of 15 and 30, inclusive, at the start of the internship
  • Be a post-secondary graduate (i.e. have completed a diploma or degree following secondary education) at the start of the internship
  • Not be a receipt of EI during the course of the work placement
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada as a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status at the start of the internship
  • Reside in BC
  • Self-assess as underemployed, meaning you are employed below you level of education and/or hold part-time employment, or are unemployed
  • Not be a co-op student
 
 
Employment term and compensation:
  • 5 month internship
  • 35 hours per week at $28/hr
  • Anticipated start date: August 1, 2022
